A typical knowledge worker or office professional today spends half their day working in various enterprise applications. What about the other half? In meetings looking at what others have created in their enterprise applications.
This will continue to be mainstream for the next ten years.
But there is a new paradigm on the horizon for enterprise applications, including project controls software and other categories of software – the “No-UI” software.
Many of today’s tasks and chores can now, or in the very near future, be done simply by speaking to, chatting with or showing an AI colleague what you need. (Yes, I know that technically is also “user interface”, but you get my point).
Instead of sifting through tables, charts and grids of information to figure out “which project is in trouble?” you can instead just ask and the AI will help figure this out. Or, ask it to tell you which projects or parts of projects or disciplines have started to trend in the wrong direction, and most importantly, what you should do about it.
Instead of relying on manually generated forecasts, tell AI to forecast your cost and schedule based on historical data.
Instead of sorting tables to figure out which contractors are behind on delivering your drawings, you can simply ask, and AI will figure it out AND ping them to get their job done.
Instead of having to manually verify meta data in records and cross-checking documents, you can simply have AI do this for you.
Instead of scheduling activities manually, you’ll tell AI what objectives you are trying to meet, and it will generate your schedule.
Instead of scanning a QR code, and look up a piece of equipment on your phone, just ask AI to tell you when this piece of equipment was installed and by when, and to show you what to do with it.
My point is – there are many common use cases that can be streamlined or completely revamped with AI, some today through using our Omega 365 software, some are into the future.
Many of these can happen without a traditional graphical user interface and pre-determined forms and reports.
The key is to have a great foundation of data, integration, automations – combined with team members that are continually looking for new and better ways of accomplishing better outcomes.
What would you like your AI colleague to do today to make your projects better?
